Role summary
This Administrator role provides essential administrative support to the Cambridge Adult Locality Team, based at Union House. Key duties include data inputting, patient and staff contact, correspondence, and general office tasks. The position requires a highly organised, motivated individual with strong IT skills and a calm, patient demeanor. It's a part-time role, 33.75 hours per week, offering an opportunity to support people with mental health conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Produce high-quality word-processed correspondence, reports, and summaries.
- Undertake diary management for clinicians and/or managers.
- Organise clinics and coordinate associated appointments.
- Provide operational support to colleagues and supervise Band 2 administrative staff.
- Input and update service-user information and activity on computerised systems.
- Maintain up-to-date filing systems, both electronic and paper.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCE/GCSE standard.
- RSA Stage II/NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent.
- Good command of written English.
- Experience of working in a busy and demanding office/customer facing environment.
- Experience of supporting a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Excellent standard of typing/audio skills (50wpm)
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work under occasional pressure/stress.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good listening skills.
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining confidentiality for patients.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in an NHS Office environment.
- Experience in using computer programmes including health care IT systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to travel independently and in a timely manner across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to meet strict deadlines.
