Role summary

This role is for a Clinical Nurse Lead on an adult acute inpatient ward, acting as deputy to the ward manager. You will coordinate evidence-based patient care, supervise nursing staff, and work within a multi-disciplinary team to support recovery-focused mental health services. The position requires delivering compassionate care, developing collaborative care plans, and facilitating clinical practice. You will also lead on training and development, and support clinical supervisions and staff appraisals.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership to the ward team, supporting the Ward Manager and Specialist Nurse.
  • Lead the delivery of safe and effective care while contributing to service improvement and development.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans through comprehensive assessment and clinical formulation.
  • Coordinate clinical practice, supervise and support Staff Nurses and Nursing Assistants.
  • Lead the management of complex mental and physical health needs.
  • Ensure high standards of care are maintained through effective clinical leadership, professional supervision, and role modelling.

Essential criteria

  • Professional Nursing qualification e.g.RMN/RNMH/ RNLD
  • ENB 998 / P126/127 or equivalent.
  • Student Assessor /Mentor

Job summary

We have a number of exciting Clinical Nurse Lead positions on AlnmouthWard our female adult acute inpatient ward and Warkworth and Embleton Ward our male adult acute inpatient ward, we also have some band 6s nursing roles across our Rehab services all based at St Georges Hospital in Morpeth.

The role involves acting as deputy to the ward manager, coordinating evidence-based patient care, supervising nursing staff, and working within a multi-disciplinary team to support recovery-focused inpatient mental health services.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver compassionate care with a focus on empathy, respect, dignity and kindness to those who are experiencing acute crisis.

The successful candidate will be required to support the EMDT developing collaborative needs-based care plans, through assessment planning implementation and evaluation. They will also be expected to facilitate and co-ordinate clinical practice on the ward.

Experience in leading on training and development is essential as well as a knowledge with regards to supporting clinical supervisions and staff appraisals.
