Role summary

This is a Band 5 Paediatric Registered Nurse position in the Children's Emergency Department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Essential criteria

  • Registered Paediatric Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register, Diploma (HE) or BSc
  • One of the following: Paediatric BLS, APLS, EPLS,
  • Completion of preceptorship year

  • Experience of mentoring, supervision, teaching and assessment

Job summary

We are seeking a Band 5 nurse with a minimum of one year's post-qualification experience to join our Children's Emergency Department team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to develop their skills within a dynamic and fast-paced emergency care environment.

As a Band 5 nurse in ChED, you will support the care of children presenting with a broad range of conditions -- from minor injuries to critically unwell patients requiring treatment in the resuscitation bay. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the department runs smoothly, delivering timely, safe, and compassionate care while maintaining a calm and professional approach in a high-pressure setting.

We offer support and additional training in emergency department-specific skills, including minor injury assessment and management, cannulation, and access to advanced life support courses to further enhance your clinical development.
