Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Clinical Psychologist to join the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. The role involves supporting the lead psychologist and allied health/pharmacy team, developing resources, and rolling out training for professionals in neonatal care across the East Midlands. The post offers regular supervision and opportunities for service audit, quality improvement, and professional development, ideal for those pursuing a Clinical Doctorate in Psychology.
Essential criteria
- An upper second class degree, or higher in psychology
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable criteria
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis
- Knowledge & Experience
- Previous work experience with people with mental health and/or physical health problems
- Previous work experience with children, young people and families
- Experience of paid work in direct care provision
- Experience using databases or data-analysis
- High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive
- Experience of working with multidisciplinary staff groups
- Key Competencies/Personal Qualities and Attributes
- Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals
- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively
- A desire to explore a career in Professional Psychology

Job summary
This is a very exciting opportunity to work at the regional level supporting the team who work with all the neonatal units across the East Midlands. The East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is looking to recruit an assistant clinical psychologist to provide support to the lead psychologist and to the lead allied health professional and pharmacy team.
The post holder will be involved in developing resources to support the development of new neonatal psychology and allied health/pharmacy services across the East Midlands. They will also be responsible for supporting with the roll out of training to psychological professionals and allied health professionals working in neonatal care across the East Midlands.
The post will offer regular supervision with a Consultant Clinical Psychologist which will allow the post-holder to develop their clinical skills, reflective thinking and to understand important issues affecting the NHS and service delivery. There are multiple opportunities to contribute to service audit and quality improvement research projects.
