Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term/secondment opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse within the Durham & Darlington Community Rehab & Recovery Team. The role involves supporting maternity leave, providing leadership, managing a caseload, conducting assessments, and offering clinical supervision. The successful candidate will also contribute to service development and ensure high professional standards of nursing practice.
Essential criteria
- Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only.
- Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
- And have Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses at level 7 see below For example Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters Degree, Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Postgraduate diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber), Psychosocial Interventions,
- And have Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent
- Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field
- Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours
- Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice
- Working collaboratively with service users their families and carers
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Quality improvement activities

Job summary
An exciting, fixed term/secondment - 12 month opportunity has arisen for a key leadership role within the Durham and Darlington Community Rehabilitation & Recovery Team.
The successful candidate will support the post holders maternity leave. We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse within our Durham & Darlington Community Rehab & Recovery Team. The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with considerable skills and experience, and a thorough knowledge and understanding of Rehabilitation & Recovery Services.
The post holder will be an active part of the senior leadership team whilst maintaining a high level of clinical skill, including managing a caseload, engaging in assessments, and offering clinical supervision and coaching to the team and wider service. You will be involved in all service development work and will also promote and role model engagement in local and national drivers and policies.
A thorough understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act will be essential to the role as these will provide the framework for all consideration.
