Role summary
This role involves supervising a team of Domestic Assistants to maintain high cleanliness standards across the Freeman Hospital and external clinics. Responsibilities include conducting audits, appraisals, return-to-work interviews, and training new staff. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, and committed to upholding the Trust's high standards. This specific post requires working Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00-22:00.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Domestic Assistants to ensure high cleaning standards in designated areas.
- Oversee cleaning methods and frequencies, ensuring required standards are achieved.
- Ensure staff carry out duties safely, using correct procedures and materials.
- Train domestic staff on machinery use and correct cleaning methods.
- Complete PLB/appraisals for domestic staff in a timely manner.
- Ensure all mandatory training for staff is completed on time.
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of technical aspects of the job, e.g. machinery, cleaning materials, products and processes
- Supervisory, leadership and motivation skills
- Good communication skills
- IT skills essential to the role.
- Experience of working in domestic services environment
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification such as BICS (or working towards)

- Previous experience in the Cleaning Industry
- Previous Supervisory experience

The role will involve the daily supervision of a large group of staff. It will involve attending wards and departments to complete audits to ensure that cleanliness levels are maintained. You will conduct appraisals, return to work interviews and training of new staff etc.
Hotel services is a fast paced department. You will need to be a self motivated individual who thrives in both working alone and also within a team.
You must lead by example at all times. We have extremely high standards in our Trust and we rely on our supervisors to help ensure this is maintained.
You will be required to work bank holidays.
