Role summary
This is a Physiotherapy Assistant role within the Community Learning Disability Service at Oxford Health. The post involves providing physiotherapy input in a community setting for service users with learning disabilities. You will carry out routine interventions and basic assessments, supported by a senior physiotherapist. The role offers opportunities for learning and development, with flexible working options across various bases or from home.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine physiotherapy interventions and basic assessments for clients with complex disabilities.
- Record all client work on clinical records and share information with the supervising physiotherapist.
- Conduct informal assessments and gather information to contribute to holistic assessments.
- Implement client-specific physiotherapy recommendations and provide resources to other professionals and carers.
- Deliver physiotherapy interventions in various community settings, including day services and patient homes.
- Undertake manual handling manoeuvres and physical activities in diverse environments.
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience in physiotherapy or similar
- Relevant NVQ III/B Tech/ A-levels
- Driving license and access to a car
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Working with individuals who have a learning disability or neurological condition
- Additional relevant training in learning disabilities and / or physiotherapy.
- Demonstrates the ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor.
- Qualifications in IT
- Communication skills
- High level of spoken and written English language

Job summary
A Physiotherapy Assistant post has become available within theCommunity Learning Disability Service in Oxford Health.
It is an opportunity to provide physiotherapy input in a community setting, for service users who have a learning disability.
You will be supported by a senior physiotherapist in all aspects of your role and will have opportunity for learning and development.
You will have options to work flexibly at a base in Banbury, Oxford or Abingdon or from your home.
