Role summary
This Staff Nurse role in the Community Ready Unit (CRU) supports safe and timely patient discharge from hospital. You will assess patient needs, deliver compassionate nursing care, and coordinate discharge arrangements. The role requires a motivated Registered Nurse with excellent communication skills, committed to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth transition for patients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our Community Ready Unit (CRU) at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
The CRU plays a key role in supporting safe, timely discharge from hospital. We work closely with wards, pharmacy, transport services and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients who are ready to leave their inpatient bed can complete the final stages of their discharge in a welcoming and supportive environment.
This is a busy, fast-paced and developing service where no two days are the same. As a Staff Nurse, you will assess and respond to patients' individual needs, deliver safe and compassionate nursing care, support discharge arrangements, communicate with patients and families, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration who is an excellent communicator, can prioritise effectively and is confident working within a dynamic environment. You should be committed to high-quality patient care and keen to contribute to the continued development of the CRU.
