Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 NMC Registered Midwife to join the education and development team. The role involves collaborating with the Practice Development Midwife and Clinical Skills Educator Midwife to support education programmes for all staff within the maternity unit. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, deliver, and monitor training and development programmes, acting as a visible and proactive role model. This position requires strong clinical experience, excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife with active NMC registration
- Diploma/degree in midwifery
Desirable criteria
- NIPE/ENB 997, or working towards
- Preparation for Mentorship or equivalent/practising Practice Supervisor/Assessor
- Evidence of working autonomously and within multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to professional development & evidence of CPD
- Experience of clinical audit, research activities
- Experience of teaching and assessing skills/ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate evidence-based knowledge and application to clinical practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Clinical competencies appropriate to role
- Computer literate/IT skills appropriate to role
- Effective organisational skills
- Inspires others and leads by example
- Leadership skills
- Understanding of record keeping, NMC Code, safeguarding, confidentiality
