Role summary

This is a new Band 4 Lead Pharmacy Assistant role, acting as Deputy Dispensary Manager, within the Worcestershire Royal Hospital's dispensary team. The successful candidate will manage senior Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring efficient and accurate medication processing. Essential criteria

  • Standard key-board skills for using the Pharmacy Computer System, and other software, including Microsoft Office
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively using a variety of methods (written/verbal/presentation) with a wide range of people, and have the ability to record details accurately.
  • Able to carry out verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Self-motiving and able to motivate others.
  • Able to work flexibly when needed depending on the service requirements.
  • Able to use initiative but understand the limits of responsibility.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy assistant to join our dispensary team at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as part of the management team.

This will be a key role in the Operational Services pharmacy team, managing the service and staff as deputy to the Dispensary Manager.

You will be a strong confident team player, demonstrate professionalism at all times, act as a role model to all our pharmacy assistants and pharmacy technicians, with a strong commitment to staff training, and take responsibility for ensuring efficient running of the dispensary.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Dispensary Manager, you will manage the senior Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Technicians in the dispensary to ensure work is processed
