Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a supportive and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide the highest quality of care for service users within an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service.
- Work on a rotational shift basis, including days, nights, and twilight shifts.
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of the 6 C's (Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment) in practice.
- Engage in training and preceptorship programmes to develop skills.
Essential criteria
- RMN / RNLD
- First level nurse
- Excellent communicator verbally and written work.
- Well developed research based knowledge and practical nursing skills
- An understanding of basic management principles is essential as the post will involve taking charge of the service occasionally
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- A positive approach towards use of information technology
- 1 st level mental health trained nurse, with an up to date knowledge of current mental health legislation. and or
- Experience of working with adults with a Learning Disability
- Demonstrate alignment with Trust Values (6 C's: Commitment, Communication, Care, Courage, Compassion, Competency)
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a Mental Health setting
- Experience of carrying out clinical supervision.

Ancora House is an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service, consisting of 30 beds, split across two wards: Coral and Indigo. We are a general adolescent unit, that also supports young people with an eating disorders.
