Role summary

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Registered paramedic /ODA/ODP or similar qualification
- Resuscitation Council UK Immediate life Support provider
- Evidence of CPD relating to resuscitation care agenda
Desirable criteria
- Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Instructor (ALS i) or willing to undertake
- Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of adult basic, immediate and advance life support
- Familiarity with Resuscitation Council UK Immediate Life Support (ILS) course regulations
- Excellent understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Familiar with track and trigger tools e.g. National Early Warning Scores (NEWS 2) Paediatric Early Warning Scores (PEWS)
- Knowledge of ethical issues relating to resuscitation and practical application
- knowledge of specific service needs within a mental health and learning disability service resuscitation department
- Awareness of NPSA Oxygen Safety Rapid Response Report
- Awareness of the Public Access Defibrillator Programme
- Knowledge of the ReSPECT agenda
- Excellent organisation skills including planning and evaluating the work of others
- Ability to collect and interpret data relating to the resuscitation service
- Can demonstrate current clinical credibility and expertise
- Evidence of organising and delivering training/education programmes.
- Can lead the development of Trust policy and procedure relating to the resuscitation service.

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of an evidence based, highly effective portfolio of resuscitation training courses consistent with standards set by the Resuscitation Council (UK)
The post holder will contribute to the resuscitation service delivery, demonstrating expertise in evidence based practice and reflecting developments in clinical research relating to resuscitation. They will provide clinical and technical support and advice to clinical teams during training, simulation and as part of the debrief process following a resuscitation event.
Main duties of the job
The post holders main duties will consist of training a diverse group of staff from multidisciplinary backgrounds
However as well as this as a member of the Resuscitation Team, you will also:
- Support the development and review of resuscitation, deterioration practices to ensure they reflect current guidance and best practice.
- Provide expert advice to clinical teams on resuscitation, emergency response, and deteriorating patient management.
- Monitor training compliance and contribute to reports for committees and senior managers.
