Role summary
This role involves joining the night shift warehouse team at the Pharmacy Distribution Centre, supporting the procurement, storage, and distribution of medicines and vaccines. You will work in a fast-paced, automated environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Key duties include processing medicinal products, maintaining stock records, operating warehouse equipment, and adhering to Good Distribution Practice. The position contributes to patient care by maintaining the integrity of medicinal products throughout the supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Support the seamless and compliant supply of pharmaceutical products.
- Undertake electronic receipting and processing of medicinal products.
- Maintain accurate stock records and manage goods receiving and storage.
- Support automated and manual medicine distribution processes and replenish stock.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks, and perform general housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with GDP, FMD, health and safety, and local SOPs.
Essential criteria
- General level of education with a minimum of three Standard Grades (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Commitment to undertaking relevant SVQ qualifications.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Ability to work effectively under supervision and follow established procedures.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organise daily tasks using own initiative.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills through a comprehensive induction and training programme.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a demanding operational environment.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of training staff.
- Experience of supervising staff.
- Experience of working within a healthcare or similar environment.
- Experience of stock management.
- Understanding of the importance of quality, safety and accuracy in a warehouse environment.
