Role summary

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for three Domestic Supervisors at Royal Albert Edward Hospital. The successful candidates will supervise the Domestic Services team, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness. This role involves allocating tasks, monitoring performance, providing training support, and managing staff rotas and annual leave. A flexible approach to working hours is required.

Essential criteria

  • Able to work unsociable hours.
  • Speak English to an appropriate standard relevant to their role, i.e. with confidence and accuracy, using correct sentence structures and vocabulary, and without hesitation
  • Flexibility to provide cover for colleagues.
  • The ability to work flexibly in accordance with service needs.
  • Full knowledge of domestic cleaning protocols
  • Knowledge of hygiene, health & safety, COSHH regulations
  • Knowledge of staff supervision
  • Understanding of rota management and annual leave

  • Knowledge of the Hospital site and departments within it
  • Knowledge of Trust policies
  • Safe operation and use of a variety of cleaning equipment
  • Key board skills
  • To be able to use IT packages including Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Fully trained to National Cleaning Standards
  • Conversant with protocols in relation to infection control
  • Previous cleaning/domestic expereince
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Bioquell Q10 - HPV
  • Decontamination Trained
  • C.I.L.B City and Guilds N.V.Q Level 1&2 or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to demonstrate supervisory experience in a Domestic or equivalent role.
  • Health & Safety qualification Team Leader/Supervisory qualification or equivalent

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust are currently recruiting for 3 Domestic Supervisors within our Domestic team at Royal Albert Edward Hospital.

All 3 posts will be working 20 hours per week , flexible shifts, over 7 days

Post 1 - Flexible hours, over 7 days

Post 2 - Monday to Friday (08:30 - 12:30)

Post 3 - Monday to Friday (16:00 - 20:00)
