Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to work with children and young people in Special Schools in Hull. The role involves developing clinical pathways for services within Hull Special Schools and for AAC users across Hull and East Riding. Essential criteria
- Advanced understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.
- Current registration with HCPC and RCSLT

- Evidence of advanced practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area to advanced level e.g. Masters/post-graduate diploma and/or equivalent knowledge /experiential learning for dysphagia and children with additional needs
- A breadth of clinical practice including clinically specialising in the field where the post is held
- Skills and Competencies
- Able to demonstrate excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management skills

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Advanced Speech and Language Therapy post to provide a service for children and young people within Special Schools in Hull. Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing clinical pathways for delivering services within Hull Special Schools and for AAC users across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The therapist will work within a small team of Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Speech and Language Therapy Assistants in the Special Schools, while also being part of a larger service. They will work closely with other health professionals, educators, external agencies, and parents/carers to ensure communication and feeding needs are understood, supported, and embedded throughout the school day and beyond.
