Role summary
This role is for a Band 6 Midwife to join the River Team within the Antenatal Clinic at St Thomas' Hospital. The midwife will provide high-quality antenatal care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies, including routine appointments and specialist clinics. Responsibilities also include providing antenatal education and supporting the safe running of the clinic. Training and support will be provided for specialist areas.

- Previous experience-worked in a variety of settings utilising all midwifery skills

- Experience of midwifery research and audit
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities/Physical Qualities
- must be able to practice in all areas in accordance with the midwives rules and code of conduct
- Can practice as an autonomous midwife in the acute and primary care setting
- Able to prioritise workload appropriately
- Be able to lead on antenatal clasess
- Previous experience of midwifery working in all areas of maternity
- Confident in teaching and assessing student midwives

- Evidence of professional qualification and responsibility via a professional portfolio
- Post registration teaching qualification ( e.g 998 or mentorship course))

Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Midwife to join the River Team within the Antenatal Clinic at St Thomas' Hospital.
At St Thomas', we are one of the pioneering Trusts for caseload midwifery, with well-established teams in place for over 24 years. We continue to work towards improving continuity of care across the community and wider maternity service.
We are a friendly and supportive team and would like to welcome midwives with a keen interest in antenatal care. The role involves providing care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies, including routine antenatal appointments and specialist clinics such as Twin Pregnancy, Fetal Blood Sampling, Anti-D and Safeguarding clinics. The post holder will also support the delivery of antenatal classes.
Training and support will be provided for specialist areas where required.
Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, with Saturday working up to twice per month.
