Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to join the Community Therapy Team. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering patient-centred rehabilitation services under the guidance of occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The position involves direct patient care, maintaining documentation, and participating in a 7-day service rota. It's a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient recovery in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver rehabilitation through therapy interventions, including support with personal care, cognition, and mobility.
- Carry out rehabilitation plans as delegated by occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with service users, families, and the therapy team.
- Be flexible to support the team during peak service times.
- Participate in the 7-day service rota, including weekends, delivering rehabilitation between 8am and 8pm.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in the care or leisure setting
- Experience of working in a busy and varied workplace including dealing with the public
Desirable criteria
- An understanding of manual handling principles
- Broad range of life experiences
