Role summary
This role is for an experienced Band 7 Senior Tissue Viability Nurse to lead the Suffolk Community TVN team. You will provide expert specialist advice on tissue viability issues, facilitate evidence-based wound management, and monitor patient outcomes through audits. The position involves cross-site working and contributing to strategic improvement in tissue viability across ESNEFT. You will also assist with coordinating tissue viability education.
Key responsibilities
- To work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability providing expert specialist advice on tissue viability issues.
- To facilitate evidence based practice on wound management, prevention and management of pressure ulcers, and Topical Negative Pressure Therapy.
- Monitor and improve patient outcomes relating to tissue viability through pressure ulcer incidence & pressure relieving equipment audits.
- To assist with the co-ordination and provision of tissue viability education throughout ESNEFT.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse recorded on Part 1 of the NMC register
- Degree in relevant subject or evidence of working at that level
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Proven post registration nursing experience at Band 6 level in acute or community tissue viability setting
- Sound knowledge of current trends within Tissue Viability and Pressure Ulcer prevention
- Experience of facilitating change, improving processes and promoting learning at work
- Ability to lead and work within a team managing and leading junior colleagues
- Accurate IT skills and analysis of information from database systems.
- Ability to write, analyse and interpret audit and research reports.
- Able to interpret complex data and present findings clearly in order to inform decision making.
- Able to work autonomously prioritising own and others workloads achieving a balance between clinical and other aspects of the role

The role will also require cross site working at Colchester Hospital and in the Community, working with the other Harm Free Care Leads at ESNEFT to drive strategic improvement specific to Tissue Viability
