Role summary
This role is for a Senior Neuro Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Neuro team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision and development of OT services, assist in training junior staff, and provide high-quality, person-centred clinical care. The position requires experience working with stroke and other neurological conditions, with a focus on continuous service improvement and personal leadership development.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the provision, co-ordination and development of OT services for their specific section.
- Assist in training and supervising junior staff and students.
- Participate in administrative functions of the OT Department.
- Provide excellent, high quality person centred clinical care that advocates for patients.
- Strive to provide a service fit for today and the future.
- Develop personal leadership to support clinical growth.
Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in OT
- HCPC registration
- Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
- Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities
- able to work under pressure
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
- knowledge of evidence based practice
- Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
- Ability to clinical reason/ plan intervention independently
- Experience working with neuro patients in an acute / community setting
- Willingness to rotate clinical area of work
- Must be able to travel between sites
Desirable criteria
- Fieldwork educators course
- evidence of Post grad study in neuro conditions
- Training and facilitation skills
- Use of an NHS EPR
- Experience of research and audit
- Advice and informal supervision to support staff and students
- Experience working in the NHS
