Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Imperial Clinical Respiratory Research Unit (ICRRU). The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of clinical research studies across various respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, and tuberculosis. It involves working within a specialist team to deliver high-quality patient care in a research setting, offering professional development within a leading Academic Health Science Centre. The position focuses on facilitating safe, participant-focused research and coordinating care for study participants.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate efficient, safe and participant-focused research.
- Contribute to the management of the local portfolio of clinical research studies.
- Advise staff and researchers on clinical practice and research, promoting an active research culture.
- Co-ordinate the care of your own caseload of clinical research study participants.
- Contribute to the development of research protocols.
- Assist in gaining local regulatory committee approval (ethics and R&D approval).
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Relevant experience at band 5 within a relevant speciality. Experience of supervision of junior staff, SLICE or equivalent experience For specialist areas able to demonstrate specialist knowledge of patient group Knowledge of research and audit Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ability to demonstrate application of the NHS Plan to own sphere of practice.

- Proven teaching and assessing skills
- Ability to apply current research to practice
- Able to manage difficult situations effectively
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Able to use own initiative
- Demonstrates an awareness of the wider NHS service developments

- Has attained or is working towards a Degree/ Certificate/Diploma in management/ professional nursing issues.
