Role summary
This is an internal-only opportunity for a highly enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Support Worker to join Ward 3, specializing in stroke/neuro rehabilitation. The role involves assisting registered nurses in providing high-quality patient care, including personal care, feeding, and hydration. You will contribute to housekeeping and ward duties, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for stroke patients.
Key responsibilities
- Support nursing staff to provide high quality care to patients.
- Provide personal care, ensuring patients are comfortable and assist with feeding and ensuring adequate hydration.
- Contribute to housekeeping and other ward/department duties, such as general tidiness, replenishing stock, and ensuring clinical equipment is clean, working, and stored correctly.
- Contribute to the work and improvement of the department under direct or indirect supervision of registered practitioners or assistant practitioners.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;
- Theoretical knowledge
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- Clinical observations
- Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
- Experience of working in health or social care.
- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings
- Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision
- Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
- Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective team work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on Ward 3, we are seeking to recruit 2 a highly enthusiastic and motivated team players who will assist the registered nurse/other healthcare professional in providing high quality patient care.
The department specialises in stroke/neuro rehabilitation and compromises a 16 bedded stroke unit. The Stroke Department is a friendly and caring environment providing care to the most critically / acutely ill patients. Our current Stroke wards regularly receive excellent feedback from patients and their families about our caring staff. The aim of Ward 3 is to provide holistic care for stroke patients, utilising a co-ordinated multidisciplinary approach, resulting in optimal patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
