Role summary
This exciting role is for a Respiratory Specialist Clinician to work in the Bexley COPD service within Oxleas NHS Trust. The team provides acute support and chronic disease management of COPD in a community setting, including a diagnostic spirometry service and home oxygen therapy management. The post holder will manage a caseload, conduct complex assessments, and work autonomously to monitor and manage patients, aiming to prevent hospital admissions and improve health outcomes. This community-based role requires travel across the Borough.

- Degree level education
- Registered Nurse/AHP
Desirable criteria
- NMP
- ARTP qualification
- Advanced clinical skills course or equvailant
- Minimum of 4 years post registration experience, 2 years at band 6
- Community Experience in respiratory
- Experience with the management of home oxygen therapy and review.
- Knowledge and experience of treating patients with chronic lung disease
- Experience of delivering self management support in a group setting
- Advanced Physical Assessment Skills
- Experience of the management of people with long term conditions
- Other
- Full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle

This a community post requiring travel across the Borough, the post holder should hold a full driving licence & suitable vehicle for work purposes.
Main duties of the job
The role will include working as part of the team and participating in the leadership of the home oxygen service. This will include the management of a caseload and regular review of patients with reference to local key performance indicators.
You will need to be a versatile, adaptable team player who has good organisational skills. You will be required to use multiple computer systems therefore a good knowledge of IT is essential.
