Role summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. This role involves providing end-to-end LMS administration, including learner support, system configuration, and maintenance. The successful candidate will support the digital learning platform, ensuring effective delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of digital learning resources. Applicants must have prior experience as an LMS Administrator.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide operational and administrative support for the Trust's Learning Management System (Learning Hub).
  • Manage a comprehensive portfolio of online learning courses, audiences, certifications, assessments, evaluations, and dashboards.
  • Maintain learner records and user accounts, and produce statutory, compliance, and ad hoc reports.
  • Create and administer system accounts for various user groups, including ICR staff, external partners, and volunteers.
  • Create, manage, and maintain course pages, providing guidance on design and structure.
  • Manage audience structures and create, configure, and maintain certification programmes within the LMS.

Essential criteria

  • A good level of computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Educated to GCSE level including English & Maths at Grade C or equivalent
  • Experience in an office administrative role and providing high quality administrative support to others
  • Experience of using computer systems for data input, reporting and statistical manipulation
  • Experience of providing a quality service to customers and diffusing difficult situations
  • Experience in working with learning management systems
  • Good written communication skills; ability to produce and compose documents to a high standard of presentation with good written English
  • Good oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to provide clear instruction, convey confidence and use questioning to check understanding and ability to confidently communicate with staff at all levels
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision and organise, anticipate and plan workload.
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure and cope with unanticipated demands
  • Ability and initiative to prioritise a busy workload
  • Attention to detail when managing multiple tasks
  • Good organisational, coordination and planning skills
  • Able to 'think on your feet' to solve problems when they arise

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge and understanding of Learning Management Systems, with experience of the Totara platform.
  • Ability to learn, apply, and support new system enhancements and functionality within Totara environments.
