Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the specialist Radiopharmacy team as an Advanced Senior Pharmacy Support Worker. You will be involved in the preparation and quality assurance of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. The role requires an organised individual with excellent attention to detail, who can also supervise colleagues and contribute to service development. This position offers a chance to develop knowledge and experience within a highly specialised environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
- Supervise and support less experienced staff involved in radiopharmaceutical preparation.
- Perform in-process checks on the work undertaken by other team members.
- Undertake quality control testing of finished radiopharmaceutical products.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance throughout all aspects of your work.
- Support the Senior Radiopharmacy team with the development and improvement of services.
Essential criteria
- Numerate and literate e.g., GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5-9 or equivalent
- HNC (or equivalent experience) in a science-based subject OR 2 A level passes in a science subject OR BTEC level 3 in a science subject OR equivalent knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical procedures gained through work experience and training
- Significant experience of pharmacy
- Significant supervisory experience

Desirable criteria
- Experience of using JAC computer systems
- Experience of rota management
- Experience of data management
- NVQ2 pharmacy services Or NVQ2 equivalent in pharmacy services (or currently working towards)
