Essential criteria

- Knowledge of steam systems, PSSR requirements, water systems and safe systems of work
- Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, professionalism and commitment to Trust Values and CPD
- Application Evidence - Demonstrates ability to respond effectively to engineering emergencies, service failures and major incidents whilst remaining calm under pressure
- Application Evidence Demonstrates strong commitment to Health & Safety, risk assessment and safe systems of work in high-risk environments
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability and resilience when managing competing priorities and working under pressure
- Experience of working in a commercial or industrial mechanical/ mechanical engineering maintenance environment
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS, healthcare or critical infrastructure engineering experience
- Experience working on steam boilers, pressure vessels, calorifiers or water safety systems
- Experience using CAFM systems, BMS systems and electronic maintenance records
- Additional specialist training (HTM Competent Person, Legionella, Health & Safety, supervisory training)
- Specialist competencies such as Confined Spaces, Legionella Control, PSSR, Steam Systems, HTM Competent Person Ventilation or similar technical accreditation
- Working with IT based systems
