Essential criteria
- A professional Mental Health Qualification( RMN)
- Evidence of Post Registration Education
- Up to date knowledge of Older Peoples Mental Health / functional illness and Frailty.
- Mentoring training
- Substantial post registration experience
- Experience as a band 5 in an inpatient setting
- Experience of working within a MDT
- Ability to cope with stress and a challenging environment
- Ability to assess and manage risk effectively
- Ability to manage difficult and complex situations
- Ability to provide leadership to the team, to provide stability and inspire confidence in stressful situations
- Ability to motivate others and support others to change
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to undertake nursing procedures - manual handling and physical restraint
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing staff
- Clinical supervision and mentoring experience
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Understanding of Recovery principles and Person Centred Care
- Teaching or coaching qualification
- Understanding of Compassionate Leadership
- Clinical supervision and mentoring experience and good liaison skills
