Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join the Theatre team at The Royal Blackburn Hospital. The role involves working across various specialities, including both elective and emergency surgery, and requires flexibility for cross-site working. Training will be provided, and the trust is committed to developing its workforce, particularly in robot-assisted surgery. The post requires participation in late duties, weekend, and night rotations.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - 1st or 2nd Level or ODP 752, Level 3/Certificate of Higher Education or Diploma Advanced certificate in operating dept practice
- Able to prioritise workload
- Proven ability to comply with detailed procedures

- Experience of Theatre practice
- Clear and accurate record keeping
- Personal Skills
- Clear and accurate written/verbal communication
- Able to work the hours required by the need of the service.
- Able to adapt to the changing needs of the service

Job summary
n exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, committed, hardworking, and highly motivated, Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioner to join our family of dedicated Theatre Practitioners. Your base for the role will predominantly be at The Royal Blackburn Hospital
However cross site working will be an expectation, as the service need occurs.
Main duties of the job
We have 11 theatres at the Royal Blackburn site and 17 at Burnley General and together we carry out a wide range of both elective and emergency surgery through many specialities including: Gynaecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, general surgery, vascular, colorectal, HPB, Urology, orthopaedics, trauma, ENT, maxillofacial including ground-breaking complex head and neck reconstructive surgery and Robotic assisted Surgery.
