Role summary
This is a rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapist position offering opportunities to work across adult inpatient orthopaedics, paediatric orthopaedics, and specialist surgery. The role involves managing a caseload, undertaking assessments and interventions, and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. It is suitable for newly qualified or existing Band 5 OTs, with support from senior colleagues and a preceptorship programme for new staff. Essential criteria

- Experience of discharge planning
- Assessment and provision of equipment
- Good written and spoken English

Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our well established Band 5 rotation. This post is ideal if you are newly qualified or an existing Band 5.
We are offering a rotational Band 5 post with opportunities to work across a variety of clinical areas, including:
- Adult inpatient orthopaedics (Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre)
- Paediatric orthopaedics (Oxford Children's Hospital)
- Specialist Surgery Inpatient Ward (West Wing, John Radcliffe Hospital)
Each rotation is for a period of 8 months.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will manage a caseload and plan and undertake occupational therapy assessments and interventions with support from senior colleagues.
- Work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary teams and work autonomously.
- To stay up to date with evolving evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate records.
- To be responsible for maintaining and developing their own continued professional development, for them to progress and underpin their interventions and assessment by evidence and theoretical knowledge.
- Participate in weekend and bank holiday rota.
- Participate in service developments and projects.
- Delegate and support unregistered workforce
