Role summary
This is a Band 5 Staff Nurse position in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), a 13-bedded acute cardiac unit. The role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care programmes, and providing high standards of clinical nursing. The post holder will manage a group of patients and may take charge of the unit when competent. It also includes acting as a role model for students and junior staff.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the needs, develop programmes of care, and implement/evaluate these programmes for patients and their relatives.
- Provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department.
- Manage a group of patients.
- Take charge of the unit when rostered and assessed as competent.
- Act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees and Nursing Associates/trainees.
- Present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team.
