Role summary
This role is for an Assistant Psychologist within the East Sussex Rehab pathway, supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, including Psychosis. The successful candidate will deliver psychological interventions under supervision, liaise with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to assessments and interventions. The position aims to provide valuable professional experience to aspiring clinical psychologists, particularly those from under-represented groups.
Key responsibilities
- Support and enhance professional psychological care for clients in the rehabilitation pathway.
- Deliver psychological interventions under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.
- Liaise with the MDT, families/carers, other professionals, and organisations.
- Provide psychological assessments and interventions within scope of experience and training.
- Administer and score outcome measures.
- Be involved in service evaluation, audit, and research projects.
Essential criteria
- Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology, or equivalent with graduate basis for registration with BPS
- Ability to recognise and reflect upon personal and societal bias along a range of dimensions of difference
- To be able to communicate effectively
- To assimilate complex information and use reflective/analytic thinking
- Capable of using initiative and organise work to agreed goals
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Further post graduate training in relevant area of professional psychology
- Individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds
- Individuals with unpaid caring responsibilities as defined by NHSE
- Those from low socio-economic back-grounds as defined by Gov.uk o
- Experience of group work and individual therapeutic contact
