Role summary
This role is for a Bank Staying Well Practitioner to join an acute service in Crawley, co-produced with Waythrough. You will support Recovery Workers in delivering person-centred care to adults experiencing mental health crises, providing a safe and therapeutic environment. The service operates daily with shifts from 14:00 - 01:00hrs, offering generous enhancements for evenings and weekends. You will help service users identify their needs, manage immediate crises, and develop coping strategies for resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Support Recovery Workers in delivering person-centred care in a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
- Reduce emotional and psychological distress and promote independence for adult mental health service users.
- Assist in the recovery of adult mental health service users in the community.
- Act as a Trusted Assessor to ensure smooth transition into crisis services if required, avoiding A&E signposting.
- Promote empowerment by giving service users opportunities to identify their own needs and make choices.
- Provide support with immediate crises and encourage development of wellness and recovery plans.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse, Social Work England or HCPC registered professional with current registration appropriate to the job role.
- Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
- Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area
- Extensive post qualifying experience in relevant service area
- Able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs
- Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area
- Awareness of Trust policies and service specification

Job summary
We're looking for BANK Staying Well Practitioners to join an exciting acute service inCrawley which is co-produced with Waythrough, a VCSE partner in Sussex.
We are looking for experienced and registered mental health professionals from all disciplines, including Social Workers, Nurses and OT's. For these roles it is essential you areregistered with NMC/HCPC/Social Work England & that you have experience of crisis assessment in any setting that provides a safety care plan
The service operates every day, the shifts 14:00 - 01:00hrs We haveshifts available and there aregenerous enhancements for evening and weekends.
Based on a 'crisis caf' model, the service provides an opportunity for anyone over 18 years experiencing a mental health crisis, including a self- defined crisis, to present to Staying Well as an alternative to A&E. They will be find a warm, welcoming environment with a supportive and responsive team of mental health workers on site.
