Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload requiring complex dietetic intervention in different settings including the Stroke Recovery Unit, care homes, clinics and patients own homes.
- Provide dietetic assessment and intervention for a range of conditions including nutrition support and general dietetics.
- Work as a part of our team of dietitians and dietetic assistants, with a patient-centred approach.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and possess excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Participate in education & staff development, clinical supervision and the delivery of dietetic student training.
- Maintain complete, accurate and defensible clinical records and record daily activity using the Trusts IT network (RIO).

Job summary
We are looking for an
enthusiastic Band 6 Dietitian to join our busy Community Nutrition &
Dietetics Service in Barnsley, full time on a permanent basis.
The post is varied and
interesting, covering a range of community dietetics including community
clinics, care homes and people who are housebound. The caseload predominantly
includes nutrition support (including providing specialist dietetic
intervention to patients on our Stroke Recovery Unit at Kendray Hospital),
alongside some general dietetic clinics, with the opportunity to gain some
experience in enteral feeding and paediatrics.
Our team is friendly and
welcoming, supporting each other to provide the best nutritional care for the
people of Barnsley.
You will need excellent team
working, communication, organisation and time management skills, as well as be
able to demonstrate a commitment to CPD.
This is a
community-based role; applicants must have a driving license and access to a
vehicle for work purposes. A
contribution to the training of student dietitians is also expected.
