Role summary

This role is for a Nurse Team Leader focusing on home haemodialysis training within the renal team. You will provide care to patients with End-Stage Renal Failure (ESRF) interested in home haemodialysis options, aiming to increase patient involvement in self-care. Essential criteria

  • Knowledge in quality assurance of patient dialysis treatment
  • Community care experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively - excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of leadership and motivational skills, ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach, able to react to the changing needs of the department.
  • Ability to use negotiating skills in a positive manner to influence change within the department.
  • Ability to liaise and work with the multidisciplinary team, making recommendations to enhance the smooth running and management of the unit.
  • Able to demonstrate an active role in teaching
  • Representing Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse in their absence
  • Understanding of scheduling and capacity
  • Ability to manage self and others in delivery of own work and related clinical outcomes to meet department expectations.
  • Experience as mentor/preceptor to staff.
  • Knowledge of current Trust wide and development of Health initiatives including the Trusts LEND and Trust pledges
  • Awareness of current developments in pre and post registration nursing
  • Understanding of risk management, health and safety and other clinical governance issues
  • Knowledge of local and national health care initiatives/innovation to improve patient care, experience and safety.

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader - Renal, Home Haemodialysis who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

As an integral part of the renal team, you will take on the role of Nurse Team Leader, with a focus on home haemodialysis training. You will provide care to patients with End-Stage Renal Failure (ESRF) who require renal replacement therapy and are interested in the home haemodialysis option.

This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other staff within the renal service to provide a streamlined, efficient, and effective service. You will have the opportunity to promote expert nursing care and deliver consistently high standards of healthcare to all home haemodialysis patients.

We are eager to increase the number of patients actively involved in their care, whether through Shared Care or Independent home haemodialysis. Our goal is to promote home dialysis as part of the renal unit's strategy to deliver a service that encourages, engages, and successfully achieves self-care for 20% of patients on renal replacement therapy (RRT).
