Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Glan Clwyd Hospital. You will support a growing research portfolio, working closely with senior pharmacists to deliver high-quality clinical trials pharmacy services, including in oncology and haematology. The role offers a chance to build specialist expertise in clinical trials and contribute to innovative patient care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. You will also have opportunities to contribute to service development, research, and education.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a specialist clinical trials pharmacy service.
- Contribute to the safe and effective management of investigational medicinal products (IMPs).
- Assist in the review of clinical trial protocols and support study set-up.
- Participate in the dispensing, supply, and monitoring of trial medicines.
- Provide pharmaceutical advice and support patient care within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure accurate documentation and accountability of trial activity.
Essential criteria
- MPharm degree or equivalent
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical council
- Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
- Broad post registration experience
- Good verbal/written communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Demonstrate ability to work within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Good communicator, motivated, able to work as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for training
- Committed to self-study and self-development
Desirable criteria
- Accredited or eligible to be accredited as a HEI Clinical Pharmacy diploma/MSc tutor
- Non-medical prescribing qualification
- Experience in specialist clinical area
- Development of protocols and procedures
- Evidence of supervising or mentoring pharmacy staff
- Teaching and presentational skills
- Evidence of successful management of people
