Role summary
This role is for an Advanced Biomedical Scientist specializing in specimen dissection within the Cellular Pathology department. The position requires adherence to Royal College of Pathologists guidelines and national cancer datasets.

Job summary
The Successful candidate must have 'The Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection'.
The Cellular Pathology department is looking for enthusiastic, friendly and well-motivated individual to support the existing Advanced BMS team, liaising with the Cellular Pathology Management and Clinical Team leads for the Service.
The successful candidate will be expected to work carry out dissection with support from a Specialist Doctor and a team of Fourteen Consultant Histopathologist.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist educated to MSc level in an appropriate subject and be a Member or Fellow of the IBMS.
The post holder will hold the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection.
The post holder will undertake the role of an expert specimen dissector in a range of Histopathology sub-specialties and will achieve competency in the dissection of category A, B and C specimens to support the Consultant Histopathologists with service delivery.
