Role summary
This is a developmental role for a Children's Clinical Support Worker within the Children's Complex Care Team. The post holder will provide home-based support and respite care to children with life-limiting conditions, working mainly overnight shifts. Initially a Band 3 role, successful completion of probation and competencies will lead to progression to a Band 4 Clinical Support Worker. The role involves delivering clinical care under supervision and supporting families.
Essential criteria
- Working with children in a community or health care setting
Desirable criteria
- Communication skills with Children who have limited communication skills
- Experience of working without direct supervision
- Clinical experience of clinical tasks

- This is a community based post and therefore a valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Willingness to undertake Care Certificate
- Specialist Knowledge
- Knowledge and ability to use computers accurately for inputting patient information
- Ability to assess and report on patient's condition both clinical and non-clinical situations to determine appropriate action or care. E.g. If necessary instigate emergency procedure.
- Ability to work in calm manner in often distressing and emotional circumstances.
- Personal attributes
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with service users and the immediate and wider team
- A willingness/ability to learn and train in new topics
- Excellent standard of written communication and report writing

Job summary
Children's Complex Care Team (CCT)- Band 3 development role Support Worker - this role is offered on a permanent basis. The hours are part time 27 hours per week.
We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with children and ideally some hands on experience of clinical skills E.g. Suction, Enteral feeding, medication, tracheostomy care.
This post is a development role. The postholder will commence in the role as a Band 3 then once they have successfully completed their probationary period, gained the necessary skills and experience detailed the post holder will proceed to a band 4 Support Worker.
The shifts are mainly overnight 2200-0700. You will be working on your own for the entire shift and will need to remain awake and alert to respond to any changes in the child.
We offer an individualised induction programme to ensure that all new starters are supported to be confident and competent with each skill.
Team members provide clinical care into children's homes to allow parents to take a break from their caring responsibilities
