Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated Health Care Assistant to work on T7, a 32-bedded mixed-sex orthopaedic ward at The Royal Oldham Hospital. The ward cares for trauma, complex surgical, and elderly patients with diverse needs. The post offers extensive training and support in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient care, supporting nursing staff and upholding trust values.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
- Care Certificate
- Knowledge, Training & Experience
- Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
- Experience of working within a team
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
- Skills & Abilities
- Good communication (written and verbal skills)
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills

Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Health Care Assistants with enthusiasm to develop knowledge and experience of patients with orthopaedic injuries.
T7 is a 32 bedded mixed sex orthopaedic ward. The ward has a diverse range of patients including trauma patients, complex surgical patients and elderly patients with diverse holistic needs.
On our unit we offer support, both physically and mentally to all our patients from surgery and continually throughout their treatment plan. The acute setting can sometimes be very challenging but is very rewarding.
The trauma and stabilisation unit is a fast paced working environment which gives staff the opportunity to use multiple transferable skills to provide the highest level of care to our patients.
The post will offer lots of additional training and personal and professional support will be provided throughout. If you have a interest and experience in orthopedics then this exciting new opportunity to work on our friendly and dynamic unit is for you!
