Role summary
This role is for a Therapy Associate Practitioner within the Neuro Community Therapies team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients with neurological conditions in their homes and care settings. This involves delivering therapy independently or jointly with therapists and contributing to multidisciplinary team management and service development. The service operates 7 days a week, and some varied shift patterns may be required.
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE's including English and Maths or equivalent
- BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in a relevant subject
Desirable criteria
- Assistant membership of a relevant professional body
- Completion of a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care
- Successful completion or currently undertaking an ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
- Knowledge / competency of a range of assessment tools & interventions relevant to the role
- An understanding of confidentiality & Information Governance
- Knowledge of relevant terminology and clinical conditions in neurology
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Takes own initiative and seeks appropriate guidance
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to teach practical skills
- Risk assessment knowledge for neurological patients
- Experience of contributing to individual & group interventions for patients & settings relevant to the role
- Experience of working with the relevant specialist patient group
- Evidence of working as a therapy assistant
- Experience of contributing to audit

East Cheshire NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity available for a suitably qualified Assistant Practitioner to become part of our specialised neuro therapy team within the community.
We welcome applications from motivated individuals with a keen interest in working within an integrated team, with proven experience in neuro rehabilitation, in patient rehabilitation or general community rehabilitation.
