Role summary
This role involves leading support for teenage mothers, babies, and young families, coordinating care for those with complex needs, and managing safeguarding procedures. Essential criteria
- Foundation degree or equivalent level 5 study
- Mathematics and English level 2/GCSE grade 4 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 counseling course or equivalent, or counselling experience
- Mentoring or line managers course or experience
- PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of safe guarding procedures
- Able to use Microsoft IT and email
- Competent in the use of IT and NHS systems and programmes and able to document in the electronic and written patient records
- PERSONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- Able to manage own workload and time
- Ability to work under pressure

Job summary
Teenage Pregnancy - Senior Community Family Support Worker
The post holder will lead the support provided for teenage mothers, babies & young families and assist in the co-ordination of care for families with complex needs and safeguarding procedures.
Support may include provision of practical help, arranging accommodation, helping with travel for families, and assisting with liaison with agencies.
More complex support may be required such as caring for parents with additional and complex needs, assisting and making complex safe guarding referrals. The post holder will lead the Right Help, Right Times framework, Early Help Programme and support families in times of challenge and stress and liaise with Health and Social Service providers.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will need to be able to:

- Be trauma-informed

- Be culturally and religiously aware
- Be aware of honor-based abuse and how to refer to agencies for support
- Be able to risk assess for exploitation (CSE) and grooming
