Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to join the Paediatric Generic Research Nurse Team for maternity cover. The post holder will support all aspects of research activity, including recruitment, assessments, and data collection for studies at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. It involves maximising recruitment into research studies, study setup, protocol implementation, and data management for NIHR portfolio studies. The nurse will also be responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate records for clinical trial files.
Key responsibilities
- Support all aspects of research activity including recruitment, administering assessments and data collection.
- Maximise recruitment into research studies within the Trust.
- Conduct study setup, protocol implementation, and develop recruitment strategies.
- Perform general data management for a variety of NIHR portfolio studies.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate, comprehensive records for clinical trial files.

- Sound working knowledge of the EU Clinical Trial Directive, Good Clinical Practice an research governance frameworks
- Excellent negotiation/interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels with patients and their families

- Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of nursing practice
