Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Support Worker to join a busy gastroenterology ward, which also cares for patients with multiple acute medical problems. You will assist and support Registered Nurses and the ward manager in delivering excellent patient-centred care. The role involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with full training provided. Experience as a Band 2 HealthCare Support Worker is essential for this Band 3 position. The post is rotational between day and night duty.
Essential criteria
- Displays the ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
- Experience of working within a relevant health and social care environment, providing direct patient care
- Previous care experience in hospital
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Support Worker to join a team of experienced nurses working on our busy gastroenterolgy ward, which also looks after patients who have multiple acute medical problems.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, under the supervision of qualified nurses, caring for patients who are acutely ill with medical conditions. This ward is a busy area that provides an excellent opportunity to deal with patients in a short and medium-term care environment.
Experience within the specialty of Medicine is desirable but not essential. The post is rotational between day and night duty.
Main duties of the job
Your role will consist of assisting and supporting the Registered Nurses and ward manager and Sisters to deliver excellent patient centred care.
The ward is fast paced and dynamic, you will be expected to work to a Band 3 job description, full training will be given but experience is essential as a Band 2 HealthCare Support Worker.
