Role summary
This role is for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Community Therapy Team North in Horsham. You will deliver holistic, person-centred rehabilitation within a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team across diverse community settings. The service operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with flexible working. The position offers opportunities for professional development, in-depth learning, and a focus on core OT skills.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement evidence-based interventions to support individuals with a variety of physical and mental health conditions.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, nurses, and doctors, to create comprehensive care plans tailored to each patients needs.
- Stay at the forefront of advancements in occupational therapy, continuously improving your practice and ensuring that interventions reflect the latest evidence-based practices.
- Managing your own caseload and prioritising visits and responsibilities under supervision of your senior.
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services, setting the standard for practice and patient care.
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification such as a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
- Evidence of ongoing education
- Relevant postgraduate or undergraduate experience in the clinical field
- Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individuals
- Promotes choice and independence in undertaking patient care
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Knowledge of Professional code of conduct
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge / understanding of boundaries of role
- Demonstrates a commitment to learning and development with documented evidence of CPD
- Ability to drive, unless under Equality Act
Desirable criteria
- Experience within specialism underpinned by theory and specific therapeutic knowledge
- Experience of using assessment tools relevant to client group
- Ability to plan and prioritise a caseload efficiently
- Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit, risk management and clinical supervision
- Identifies difficulties as challenges and works with others to identify solutions

Our service operates Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm, offering flexible working arrangements to support both staff and service users.
