Role summary

This is a secondment opportunity for a Safeguarding Adult Advisor at Whittington Health, an integrated hospital and community Trust. The role involves supporting the Safeguarding Adults Lead in designing and delivering education and training programmes for staff. You will provide specialist knowledge and advice on safeguarding practices, ensuring compliance with policies and standards. The position also includes assisting in developing quality assurance frameworks and monitoring mandatory safeguarding training.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Safeguarding Adults Lead in the design, delivery and evaluation of education and training programmes for Whittington Health employees.
  • Provide specialist knowledge, advice and practice to Trust staff consistent with safeguarding policies and standards.
  • Assist in the development of quality assurance frameworks ensuring compliance with statutory record keeping and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with mandatory safeguarding training in conjunction with the learning and development team.

Essential criteria

  • At least 3 years Band 6 experience
  • Educated to degree level in health or social care or clinical education related subject or equivalent experience
  • Post registration qualification in safeguarding
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with differing levels of responsibility and professional backgrounds
  • Ability to effectively lead change and able to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams
  • Recent and extensive clinical post registration experience
  • Knowledge of changes to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards framework, and an understanding of the implications for an acute Trust.
  • Previous experience of chairing and organising meetings

  • Teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Quality improvement processes
  • Knowledge of quality monitoring processes
