Role summary
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join a dynamic team within the inpatient specialist stroke rehabilitation pathway. The role involves providing specialist assessment and interventions, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and developing individualised care plans. The post holder will also offer clinical supervision and contribute to service development. This position is based at Haywood Hospital, with opportunities to work across inpatient, community, and outpatient settings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and interventions for adults within the stroke rehabilitation pathway.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support timely hospital discharges and improve patient outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans, promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Offer clinical supervision, training, and leadership to junior staff and students.
- Contribute to service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold the highest standards of professional practice.
Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Registration with HCPC
- Previous experience of working within the NHS as a Physiotherapist
- Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of various conditions within the area of clinical speciality.
- Working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
- Evidence of specialist clinical knowledge relevant to the post.
- Understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection, HCPC /CSP standards and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults/Children. Awareness of relevant NSF's and NICE guidance.
Desirable criteria
- Experience / relevant training in Stroke
- Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.
- Experience of risk management including risk assessment, action planning & evaluation
- Advanced skills / training / knowledge
