Role summary
This role involves providing high-volume, low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression within the Sheffield Talking Therapies service. The post-holder will manage their own caseload, deliver both face-to-face and virtual treatment sessions, and work across Sheffield to meet patient demand. A minimum of 22.5 hours per week is required, including dedicated non-clinical time on Thursday afternoons for meetings and CPD. The role requires a qualified and registered Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
Key responsibilities
- Accept referrals and assess suitability for treatment within service protocols.
- Provide evidence-based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments, including guided self-help and computerised CBT.
- Manage own caseload, conduct patient-centred interviews, and make accurate risk assessments.
- Complete all mandated session-by-session outcome measures and maintain coherent clinical records.
- Participate in clinical supervision and individual performance reviews to ensure safe practice and continuous professional development.

- Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
- To meet all of the National Talking Therapies standards.
- Ability to use session by session outcome measures to monitor practice
- Computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
- Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
- Ability to carryout risk assessments within scope of practiceandmanagerisk
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
- Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
- Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
- Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
- NHS Talking Therapies qualification as a psychological wellbeing practitioner AND registration as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with either BABCP or BPS. This must be maintained throughout employment
- Worked in a service where agreed targets in placedemonstrating clinical outcomes

- Ability to be flexible with appointment times to meet patient need
- To offer at least one early appointment and one late appointment per week, or one evening clinic and/ or Saturday working if required.
Desirable criteria
- Skilled in adapting Talking Therapies PWP interventions for people where adjustments need to be made e.g. either because of language; hearing/sight impairment or other potential barriers
- Trainingin nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
- Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
- Psychology or other health related postgraduate degree
- Talking Therapies supervisor qualification (or willingness to undertake)
- Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
- Experience of delivering Talking Therapies PWP interventions in a 1:1 face to face clinic; and by telephone.
- Demonstrates high standards in written communication
- Able to write clear reports and letters.
- Experience of working in Primary Care Services Evidence of working in the local community
- Experience/Interest of delivering and facilitating Talking Therapies specific groups and psycho-educational sessions/courses
- Experience/Interest of delivering Computerised CBT packages e.g. SilverCloud
- Car driver and/or an ability and willingness to travel within a geographical area in a timely and effective manner
- Fluent in languages other than English

Sheffield Talking Therapies is looking for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP). The post-holder will work within the Sheffield Talking Therapies service providing high volume low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) basedself-managementinterventions to service to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
The post holder will work with people withdifferent culturalbackgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities
This post holder will already be qualified to provide these interventions and will also hold a professional registration with a professional body (BPS or BABCP).

Main duties of the job
To meet all of the National Talking Therapies standards.
To ensure productivity expectations are met in line with the National Talking Therapies manual, currently to deliver 20 clinical contact hours (pro-rata) per week.
