Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Derriford Hospital. The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver effective quality nursing care for level 1-3 cardiac critical care patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and, after preceptorship, supervise Health Care Assistants and learners. The position offers opportunities to enhance skills and career development within a progressive environment.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse Training completed
- Basic computer skills
- Proven drug administration oral/intravenous demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
- Completed Preceptorship.
- Demonstrable experience of acute hospital setting e.g. ICU/HDU experience.
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Diploma qualification in a healthcare related subject / or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Aptitude & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity, and effectiveness at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability / demonstrable experience of - Directing and instructing others
- Ability to work autonomously
