Role summary
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity for an Advanced Occupational Therapist to co-lead the Acute Medicine Team at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Advanced Occupational Therapist to co-lead the Acute Medicine Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands,based at Royal Stoke University Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist ready to step into this advanced role, who can embrace the challenges and opportunities of working in an acute trust environment. This is a 12-month secondment to cover maternity leave.
The acute medicine therapies team works across a wide range of specialities including cardiology, endocrinology and gastroenterology. We cover 7 wards, facilitating discharge planning and providing rehabilitative care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team member who has a specialist interest in acute medicine. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 4 years' NHS experience and ideally will also have previous experience working across medicine and the acute sector.
As an advanced occupational therapist, the successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical leadership, service development and education to the team, comprising of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and technical instructors.
