Role summary

The Haematology Day Unit is seeking experienced senior nurses to join their team as a Staff Nurse. This nurse-led service provides apheresis, supportive care, and venesection for patients with haematological cancers, sickle cell disease, and other haematology diseases. The role involves delivering expert care to help patients avoid hospital admissions and manage their disease in an ambulatory setting. Candidates should be motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Essential criteria

  • RN1/ RN2/ RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.

Job summary

The Haematology Day Unit is a nurse led service offers apheresis, supportive care and venesection. We care for patients with haematologicalcancers, sickle cell disease and other haematology diseases.

Our aim is to provide expert care to allow patients to avoid hospital admissions and to manage their disease in an ambulatory setting.We are seeking experienced senior nurses to join our team as a Staff Nurse on the Haematology Day Unit.

The individuals should be motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to organize, prioritize and co-ordinatewithin a challenging and fast paced environment. You will be supported by a strong expert team, including the Ward Sister, Clinical NurseSpecialists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and the inpatient Matron team.

We are currently open Monday to Friday 08.00 - 20.00. Shift patterns at present are 9.5 hour shifts per week. We do not currently work weekendsor bank holidays regularly, however occasionally work out of hours to support the service and eventually we may aim for weekends to bepermanent in the future.
