Working on acute adult wards, you will manage your own caseload of patients, supporting proactive and timely discharges. The role involves assessing and treating patients, preparing them for home, including manual handling, personal care, and equipment fitting. You will work as part of a combined therapy services team, delivering patient care across a 7-day service on a roster basis.
Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a large Therapy services department on acute adult wards.
- Manage your own caseload of patients to support proactive and timely discharges.
- Assess and treat patients, preparing them for home.
- Perform manual handling, personal care of patients, and fitting of equipment.
- Deliver patient care across a 7-day service, including weekends and bank holidays, on a roster basis.
- Engage in training and developmental opportunities for yourself and others.
Essential criteria
- NVQ3 in a health or social care subject or equivalent level of experience
- Experience working in a healthcare, education or customer facing setting
- Understanding of acute hospital environment
- Demonstrates the ability to acknowledge changes in the patient's physical/psychological needs and escalate as appropriate
