Role summary

As a Finance Support Analyst Team Leader, you will lead a team to coordinate monthly management accounts, provide accurate financial reporting, and deliver insights to support decision-making at NHS Blood and Transplant. You will improve reporting processes, develop financial systems, and ensure high standards of financial control. This role involves working closely with Finance Business Partners and senior colleagues to contribute to life-saving services. The position is mainly remote but requires monthly attendance at the Barnsley Blood Centre.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level or CCAB Finalist or equivalent experience.
  • Hold or willing to work towards a professional Accountancy Qualification e.g. CCAB or equivalent body.
  • Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • Advanced knowledge of the main Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel and Access).
  • Specialist knowledge of General Ledger systems and Payroll systems (preferably ORACLE and ESR) is required.
  • Experience of working in a medium to large multi-disciplinary Organisation (preferably NHS) in a financial/management accounting role.
  • Specialist knowledge of reporting software products (Business Objects, Discoverer, ADI, MS Office suite) is essential to enable regular and frequent report development and analytical work.
